Den Breejen Shipyard in the Netherlands had a positive start of 2023. With the sale of Thurgau Gold (former project Rheingold) a busy period lies ahead. Together with the client, their technical team and the interior architect the yard is working on the finishing of a new and outstanding interior.
The vessel is equipped with state-of-the-art DAF Paccar generators. These Euro6 certified engines are way ahead in terms of emissions, fuel consumption and noise levels. In addition, the propulsion is provided by the newly developed Stage V MAN D2862LE44A. Super clean engines combined with batteries, heat recovery and solar panels make the Thurgau Gold an example of sustainability. Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for June 2023.
New projects are in the pipeline whereby technology and innovations predominate. The current technologies already foresee in the use of e.g. biofuels but even the use of hydrogen is under investigation. These innovations should make the ships greener and prepared for shallow water sailing.
In addition, existing ships are refitted and upgraded to comply to future regulation. Together with their clients and subcontractors Den Breejen Shipyard is set for the energy transition.
