Bodrum Cruise Port, part of the Global Ports Holding's portfolio, the world's largest cruise port operator, will host the Turkish Cruise Company Lagoon Sea Cruises' Blue Sapphire. Bodrum Cruise Port will serve as a homeport to Blue Sapphire, which plans to have 46 cruise calls this year. The 200-meter-long Blue Sapphire has a total capacity of 750 passengers. The first call targeting the Turkish, European, and South American markets has started today.
Aziz Güngör, GPH Regional Director of East Med said: "Our goal is to transform Bodrum Cruise Port further. With the ability to host the world's largest cruise ships in the world, BCP will have a very successful season, just as it did last season. We can clearly see an increase in interest towards Bodrum. This season we expect 138 ships and 125,000 cruise passengers to visit Bodrum Cruise Port which will be a record year in terms of cruise tourism this year. We can also see the increasing luxury awareness of Bodrum as a brand in recent years that has led to an increase in the interest of luxury cruise ships to visit Bodrum."
Bodrum is a popular tourist destination located on the southwestern coast of Turkey, known for its beautiful beaches, historical landmarks, and vibrant nightlife. In recent years, Bodrum has also emerged as an important player in the cruise industry, with its modern and well-equipped cruise port attracting a growing number of cruise ships and passengers each year. The port offers excellent facilities and services to cruise lines, including easy access to popular attractions, modern infrastructure, and efficient customs and immigration procedures. As a result, Bodrum has become a preferred homeport and port of call for many cruise lines operating in the East Med, contributing significantly to the local economy and tourism industry.
