The new collection’s laying patterns, borders and motifs, designed and developed by Amtico’s in-house team, provide specifiers with the freedom to create unique and memorable customer experiences through original and bespoke design. Amtico Marine’s luxury options are created to deliver optimum performance and safety in areas of high footfall.
Marine comprises 32 carefully curated products – 20 Woods, eight Stones and four Abstracts – in a contemporary palette that will appeal to specifiers and passengers alike. The array of realistic stone and timber designs, including the new Sash Oak, Coastal Pine and Estuary Pine woods, can be seen across the 10 precision-cut laying patterns in 28 pre-defined colourways. These include: Pleat, a balanced geometric design that creates a lively backdrop for social spaces; and Castel Weave, a rich and indulgent pattern inspired by the beauty of traditional parquetry.
Sarah Escott, Design Manager at Amtico, said: “A cruise is all about great experiences, and we want our customers to be able to make the most of every area on board a ship to bring those experiences to life. So, we created a selection of brand-new laying patterns allowing the freedom to create memorable spaces; from practical circulation areas, right through to grand and luxurious ballrooms.”
Designed and manufactured at Amtico’s Coventry factory, Marine LVT flooring is approved by Lloyds Register as compliant with the Marine Equipment Directive (MED) and Safety of Lives at Sea (SOLAS). It passes stringent tests for low surface flammability and smoke toxicity, and carries the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) ‘wheelmark’. The Marine LVT collection contains an active ingredient which has shown, under blind independent lab tests, to resist the growth of bacteria such as MRSA and E.coli, adding peace of mind and supporting the safe return of the cruise industry. Marine is constructed of five key layers, including the high-performance 0.55mm upper wear layer, to provide the same resilience and long-lasting properties that Amtico is known for, to meet the rigorous demands of marine flooring, from commercial ferries to luxury cruise liners.
The LVT planks and tiles feature Amtico’s patented Quantum Guard Elite protection, while they also carry a 10-year commercial warranty and M1 low emission product certification.
